This simple but very effective procedure made it possible to serve the beer cool even in summer in the flourishing brewery located there. After the demolition of the building previously located above the ice cellar, the cellar got its current appearance. Although ice is no longer stored in him, he still has it "in him". The ice cellar serves as a home for a considerable bat population.

The perennial garden is located in the immediate vicinity of the ice cellar. It was created according to plans by students from the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences and Landscape Architecture at the University of Applied Sciences Osnabrück. The area was formerly planted with roses, which is why it was called "Rose Garden" at the time. Soil fatigue and unfavorable location conditions for the sun-hungry "queens of flowers" were the reason for a new concept. "
