The Kraaiengat is located behind the MOP site and is surrounded by beautiful trees and shrubs. It was created by excavation of sand that was used for the Klein Brabant district. The water has different depths and is unsuitable for swimming.

The area is known in Vught as a meeting place and as a fishing pond. Carps are regularly caught there. Fishermen from far and wide around Vught came to this water and carp were regularly caught and transferred to waters outside Vught. This is better supervised by a stricter inspection by the fishing association.

The Kraaiengat is popularly called the 'gat van Hooijman' (or Hooijmannengat) after the owner of that piece of land where the excavation took place.
