The Rodlera is a small settlement northeast of Pöhl. In 1578 it was first mentioned in the history books under the name Rodla.
The Rodlera was always somewhat secluded on the way from Neudörfel to Helmsgrün. Until 1961, neither an entrance sign nor any other sign drew attention to the houses in the back of the forest. That is why Rodlera remained vacant at the end of World War II. The American occupation forces rolled past Rodlera on April 18, 1945.
In the course of the dam construction, the importance of the place increased. A bungalow settlement of the same name was created. And in Rodlera itself, individual bungalows and weekend houses were built. Tourism also found its way into this small town.
Despite everything, Rodlera remained an idyllic spot. In order to preserve this for future generations, the council of the municipality of Helmsgrün decided in 1991 in accordance with the district office in Plauen not to allow any further development in this place.
