Fonte Mineral Erlenbrunnen

It's like the sign says: The water is very healthy, but not everyone will like it. Very metallic taste with surprisingly high carbonation. Crazy spring, try water!

The Erlenbrunnen (also called "Erlebuhr", "Saurebuhr" or "Eedel" (named after a quarry nearby) lies between Bell and Mendig and was built in 1809. He is often used by Bellers as a resting place on the footpath to Mendig. However, the situation - at least in popular thinking - is not clear to which community because now this well belong. However, since the well has two spouts, the vernacular has gradually become accustomed to awarding the upper spout Bell and the lower Mendig, which means that as a Beller you will be (critically) gazing at it critically when speaking from the "Mennije Buhr "drinks. In the years 1931, 1964 and 1988, the Erlenbrunnen was renovated in each case and associations of both communities take care of the preservation of the fountain.

Actually, the Erlenbrunnen is a nice place for a break. Unfortunately, the well obviously is no longer cultivated. The water does not drain properly and is pretty muddy ...
