The word sail, a monument to poetry, is the name of a steel sculpture by Prof. Heinrich Popp.

The sculpture stands in an open field northwest of Sotzweiler, the sculptor's birthplace. Located on a hill about 338 meters above sea level near the A1 federal highway and the B 269 and within sight of the Schaumberg, the sculpture is a landmark that can be seen from afar.

The word sail consists of two sail-shaped triangles, one of which stands on its tip and which are positioned twisted/mirrored against each other. At their uppermost point, the two halves of the sail, made of rusting steel, are welded together. At the same time, the empty space between the two steel plates also has a sail-like shape, depending on the viewing point.

The monument, a gift from Heinrich Popp to his hometown, was erected in 2005 after several years of planning and execution. The two steel plates were cast in the Dillinger Hütte and rolled to a thickness of 3 cm. The sculpture is 13 meters high and has a total weight of around 30 tons.
