    The exact origin of the church cannot be determined. Some historians believe it was built around 1181. However, according to tradition, the Counts ofstättenecke were the builders of the church, although they do not appear until the second half of the 13th century.         From the small village of san Giacomo (Sankt Jakob) going up to the very close and beautiful church of the same name. From there going up and down through the woods ( there is a meadow where you can have a wonderful view of Sassolungo and part of Sella Group from the distance) to reach the nice and most famous village of Val Gardena, Ortisei. We went up back through the street (because it brings and ends into San Giacomo, you can encounter a car rarely.)
