The monastery, founded in 1430 by the Danish King Erik von Pomerania, is one of the most beautiful and best preserved monastery complexes in Northern Europe. After the Reformation in 1536, the monastery was dissolved and Christian III. converted into a hospital and retirement home in 1541. But we could still admire the cloister and the cloister garden.
