    The city on the Altmühl is considered the capital of Altmühltal. There is much to discover here. So here on the northern Talabhang a foothills of the Franconian Jura. This is known for its fossils, which were found here and are still found. Historically, the big district town offers a lot. Already from the 5th century BC, people settled here. The Celts were the first Eichstätter and in Roman times the Limes was nearby.

    There are several monasteries and a cathedral to visit. A special highlight is certainly the Willibaldsburg with the Jura Museum. And the many places invite you to unwind. If you still have time, you can see museums, gardens and historic buildings. Boredom certainly does not occur in Eichstätt.
