We were there on Easter Sunday. The information center was closed, but there is a very clean public toilet in the back. You only need 50ct and then you can relieve and refresh yourself before the hike. That helped us a lot 👍

As part of the UNESCO Biosphere Reserve Schorfheide-Chorin, the beech forest, which has not been used for 20 years, was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 2011.
At this information point there is a small exhibition on the beech forest. From here, the unique natural landscape can be explored on a guided tour by rangers. For an individual hiking experience, you can alternatively follow two signposted hikes (Yellow and Orange Beech Leaf) that run through Altkünkendorf. The tours (with one exception) do not run through the core zone of the protected area.

Times:
The tours last between three and four hours. They are offered all year round and take place on Saturdays or Sundays. There must be at least six registrations for a tour to take place. The prices vary depending on the number of participants.
