    Under the name "Nature Construction Site Experience", information boards were set up at 4 points along the path in spring 2020, which provide detailed information about the failed "Alte Eisenbahn" tunnel construction project. It is worth stopping there to read and explore the described relics in the area. This is really well done! Tip: In particular, the digital terrain model on the 3rd information board is worth a closer look. It is very interesting to see what efforts have been made and how far the project has progressed.

    To the path itself:

    Coming from the hiking car park on Willebadessener Straße, this section of the trail is really fun. Towards the end it becomes steep and you can pick up speed. At this point, a parallel section branches off, which leads directly along the flooded rest of the "Alte Eisenbahn". So you have the choice: sightseeing or speed. Shortly before the end, after a few rainy days, a small mud fight awaits. The brave save themselves the hassle of braking and simply slide through. ;)
