The ruins of the legendary Hankertsmühle (Hankert Mill) are a bit eerie. This mill (later a sawmill) was first mentioned in 1371. Records testify to its eventful history. At the beginning of the 20th century, the mill's income declined, and the miller's children emigrated to America. When the miller's wife was struck and killed by a drive belt in 1909, the miller sold all his belongings and emigrated as well. The mill was demolished by order of the Royal Württemberg Forestry Administration under the condition that the arched doorway and three columns remain standing – one column still stands.
