The Anger, initially a goose meadow in the fishing suburb of Guben and a parade ground since the time of "Old Fritz", was rededicated by the city of Frankfurt (Oder) into a magnificent garden area. It was now up to Kießling to give this a worthy conclusion with the planned residential development at the northern end of the Anger. Kießling faced several challenges at this exposed location. So St. Gertraud could not be covered and the western main entrance of the church had to remain freely accessible. A square had to be created on the north side, corresponding to the church and the Kellenspring development. All views of the group of objects were to be viewed as front views, so that the farmyards had to be moved invisibly to the inside. When designing the floor plan, it was essential to take into account the particularly large apartment with adjoining garden for the President of the East Reichsbahn Directorate. In addition to the normal living and economic rooms, this was also equipped with a reception hall, ballroom, library, music room and guest rooms. The adjoining apartments were intended for the closer employees of the "superior service".

Kießling had the right architectural idea for all of these specifications. Viewed from the south, the group of objects impressively crowns the Anger and, in my opinion, is the most beautiful ensemble in the city of Frankfurt (Oder).
