In the course of its history, the castle kept changing hands. It is not known when the Burgschleinitz castle was converted into a castle.

Today the castle is owned by the Eckert family, from whom the actress Andrea Eckert also comes. Andrea Eckert is the granddaughter of Anna von Sazenhofen, an Austrian writer born in Ansbach / Germany. It is not open to the public.
