        Swimming, sunbathing, eating, going for a walk, boating and relaxing - these are just a few of the many things you can do to spend a good time at the Schömberg reservoir. Built over 70 years ago to generate electricity, it now shapes Schömberg's image of itself and others like no other place. New possibilities and perspectives opened up with the renovation of the reservoir in the 1980s, which is a rarity on the water-scarce Alb and therefore a much-visited attraction at any time of the year.
        Water that still tastes like water, sunbathing on banks that leave room for dreaming even on warm summer days - not far from the historic town of Schömberg there is a bathing area surrounded by meadows and forest. Children especially love it - boating, the nearby miniature village with a tour on the "Schwäbischa Railway", a petting zoo and an adventure park.
        Hiking and cycling enthusiasts will also enjoy it. There is a circular hiking trail with a length of 2.7 km that leads around the reservoir. But a stage of the Schlichem hiking trail and the Danube- Zollernalb trail as well as the Schlichem tour are also very popular.
        Please note: There is no lifeguard at the Schömberger bathing area. Bathing is therefore at your own risk; you may not leave the designated bathing area.
