    The Evangelical City Church (Trinity Church) in Eisfeld is a mighty Gothic building in the southern part of the old town. Inside there are many galleries to see, as well as some small modern works of art.

        The Protestant parish of Eisfeld is one of the oldest and most traditional in all of Thuringia. For Luther's friend and reformer Justus Jonas, the city in southern Thuringia was the last stop in life. The Dreifaltigkeitskirche from the late Gothic period is - taking into account its small-town environment - lavishly dimensioned. Its elaborate design in the style of a three-aisled hall church is explained by its location on a trade route leading from Venice to Erfurt.

        Since 1608, Eisfeld has celebrated a lavish folk fun every Tuesday after Whitsun: the cow's tail festival.
