While hiking amidst lush alpine meadows, along babbling brooks and past imposing mountain peaks in the Bernese Oberland’s beautiful Simmental, breathtaking views come as standard. Expect fresh alpine air, a unique natural backdrop and a landscape that appeals to all the senses. Listen attentively to the rustling of the forest, breathe in the scent of fresh herbs and flowers and relax in the clear, cool mountain air.

The hikes in this Collection explore the wonderful natural beauty around the mountain village of Lenk, at 1,000 metres (3,300 feet) above sea level. You’ll become acquainted with a world of alpine flowers, hike through the impressive moonscape of the Gryden rock formations and let your gaze wander over the turquoise Brenggen reservoir and the sparkling source of the Simme.

The Simmental is renowned for its regional fayre, including homemade alpine cheese, made on the surrounding alpine pastures from fresh milk. In the Bühlberg and Leiterli mountain restaurants, specialities like rösti or Simmentaler beef adorn the menu. Expect fresh and local ingredients throughout.

It’s easy to reach the hikes by public transport from Lenk or via the mountain railways. Remember to check the current travel times of the gondolas before setting out. We wish you an unforgettable time in the mountain world of the Simmental.
