Surrounded by the Jura, the Alps, Lake Geneva and the Rhône valley, Geneva’s location is the envy of many. The city’s surroundings offer a variety of diverse landscapes and the kind of gradients that make road cycling enthusiasts dream. There’s no need to choose between flat or mountain terrain; whatever your profile, there’s something for everyone here.

In this Collection, Anthony Rosalinda, a cycling content creator based in Geneva, presents three of his favourite routes around the city. The first, and most challenging, offers 125 kilometres (78 mi) of joy through the mountains of the Vallée Verte. The second offers a bit of respite, with just 46 kilometres (29 mi) of flat terrain on the west bank of Lake Geneva. Finally, the last Tour, 60 kilometres (37 mi) long, marks the return of the mountain, seeking out Mont Salève as its main objective.

All the Tours start from a car park in the city centre that’s located only a kilometre (0.6 mi) from the train station. They can be enjoyed from spring to autumn – winter makes the mountainous sections of the routes a no-go. You can get to Geneva by just about any means of transport: plane, train, car or bus. Several rental options are available if you arrive without your bike.
