Der gut 530 km lange Radfernweg folgt den Spuren der Mönche, die das Christentum im Mittelalter in den Norden brachten. So führt der Mönchsweg an Jahrhunderte alten, aus Feld- und Backstein errichteten Kirchen vorbei, deren Türme bis heute die norddeutsche Landschaft prägen. Auf der beschilderten Strecke von Bremen über Wischhafen und Glückstadt an der Elbe bis nach Puttgarden auf Fehmarn erwartet Radreisende Kultur, Landschaft und Ruhe.
