The castle houses a cultural hall, the registry office, the city information and the Eisfeld Museum. In the first part of its permanent exhibition, the Eisfeld Museum shows the history of Thuringian porcelain from the beginnings around 1760 to the present with 1000 exhibits and contemporary testimonies. In the second part, traditional handicrafts from the southern Thuringian foreland can be seen, including a marble or marble mill, a wooden stick weaving workshop, a pottery workshop and a wood carving workshop. The museum's folklore department and town history department are currently in storage and the premises are used for special exhibitions.
