The Kleine Isar is a branch of the river Isar in Munich. It is diverted from the Große Isar south of the Museum Island and flows between the eastern bank of the Isar or the Kalkofeninsel and the Museum Island, the Wehrsteg and the Prater Island. At the northern tip of the Prater Island, which is also called Schwindinsel here, it rejoins the Große Isar. Shortly before the confluence, at the level of the Schwindinsel, is the weir VIII.[1] It dates from 1873 and was renovated in 2009.[2] The Kleine Isar is crossed by the Cornelius Bridge, the Zenneck Bridge, the outer Ludwig Bridge, the Kabelsteg and the outer Maximilian Bridge.
