There is a bronze statue on Adelgadetorvet in Ebeltoft. It shows the unfortunate pharmacist's apprentice Lodvig.

The story of the pharmacist's apprentice Lodvig goes back to 1905, when the zealous mayor Selmer had a maid who was in a relationship with the young pharmacist's apprentice. They were having fun in the maid's room, so he had her arrested. The case and the subsequent sentence of four days in prison were laughed at by the residents of Ebeltoft, who felt the sentence was unnecessarily harsh. The case and not least the mayor became the main character in many jokes in several national media, and when the revue singer Christian Schrøder performed a revue song about the case the following year, the so-called "Ebeltoftvise", the humiliation of the mayor was total. The citizens sided with the young lovers.

The bronze statue was erected in 2001 and was made by local sculptor Holger Bendstrup. Since 1966, Lodvig has added his name to the city's honorary award.
