Construction

The bridge is strategically located south of the junction of the ancient north-south Oxen Trail from Viborg to Schleswig and the road to Haderslev. Thousands of oxen, pigs, horses, and sheep crossed this bridge from the Middle Ages until the beginning of the 20th century on their way to the markets in the south.
