From here one arrives at the also artificially created Decksteiner Weiher and the adjacent Jahnwiese with the monument of the gymnastics father Jahn, inaugurated in 1928.

The pond was created in the course of the expansion of the city forest in the 1920s. It was named after the then Lord Mayor of Cologne, Konrad Adenauer. During his tenure from 1917 to 1933, he promoted modern urban planning with more opportunities for recreation. People without employment helped with the implementation: the city wanted to lower unemployment with a program for emergency work.

At the Adenauer Weiher you can get some fresh air while going for a walk. For many joggers, the pond is a popular running route, and cyclists like to stop there and then continue through the city forest.
