The Holdri Falls in the rear Lauterbrunnen Valley are a hidden gem. There are several waterfalls in the valley that are clearly visible from afar. One of them is the Schmadribachfall. It marks the end of the valley towards the south. Even at the front of the valley floor, it offers a magnificent sight. Below the striking waterfall, the Schmadribach flows down a steep mountain forest. He falls over several rock steps and forms the Holdri Falls. The impressive natural spectacle is reserved for hikers who are on the mountain path between Schiirboden and Läger. A sign shows the junction and a narrow path leads through the trees up to the mountain stream. At the first waterfall you come to a footbridge. From the small meadow on the other side you can enjoy an excellent view of the upper falls. The glacier water thunders down with a loud roar, forming thick swaths of spray.
