The market town of Schmidmühlen actually wanted to take part in the Easter fountain campaign of the Amberg-Sulzbach district. But something crucial was missing in the community: a well. But you didn't want to give up - and came up with a very different idea: a watering can tree!
The new attraction has been standing shortly after entering Schmidmühlen: a maple that is around 20 meters high and decorated with watering cans in bright colors. A total of around 250 of them hang on the branches.
The tree is adorned every year before Easter - the watering cans then remain hanging until around All Saints' Day. The watering cans were drilled so that rainwater does not collect in them and the watering cans could not be too heavy for the tree.
