The Schlaube is a river in the east of Brandenburg and flows through the Schlauberinne. Documented the Schlaube was already mentioned in 1275 and 1336 as Slube. Further spellings can be found: 1370 Slûbe, 1471 Inn of Slavenn, 1516 Schlube and 1570 auffder Schlaube or 1751 the Schlubbe. Probably the basic form of the name comes from the Sorbian Slubníca.
