O Gerd Haehnel (essenwerden)
Jeder Autokilometer, den man per Fahrrad vermeidet, verringert Staus, schafft Parkraum, hält uns fit und schont unseren Geldbeutel: Selbst ein hochwertiges E-Bike amortisiert sich bei nur wenigen Euro Stromkosten pro 1000 Kilometer. Und sogar in Rüttenscheid oder der City ist man damit, ohne Staus und Parkplatzsuche, schneller als per PKW.
Dabei funktionieren die Routen in der Regel in beide Richtungen. Für die steigende Zahl an Menschen, die auch im Alltag von und nach Essen-Werden radeln möchten, bietet diese Sammlung nun eine Kombination aus möglichst steigungsarmen Freizeitrouten und Nebenstraßen, auf denen man auch heute schon deutlich fahrradfreundlicher radeln kann, als entlang der gefährlichen Hauptverkehrsstraßen. Allerdings muss man dafür Umwege in Kauf nehmen! Deshalb kann dieser Radführer die längst überfällige Veränderung der Verkehrsinfrastruktur auch nur begleiten. Sein schönstes Ziel wäre erreicht, wenn er in Teilen eines Tages überflüssig wäre ...
