After a good night's sleep at the Engel winery, a breakfast prepared especially for us, and a packed lunch, we left Rauenthal early in the morning in light snowfall. We wanted to check out Lake Carezza today and then make a longer detour back to our holiday apartment. Unfortunately, we took a wrong turn along the way and didn't realize it until late, so it ended up being a long walk than planned. And all this in the pouring rain.

Today we took the chairlift to the Paolina Hut. From there, we headed toward the Vajolon Pass. After crossing it, we followed the path to the Rotwand Hut, which was followed by a steep descent. From here, it was back to a hiking highway with tourists. We then walked to our accommodations, rather than taking the chairlift.
