BLANKENBURG in the Harz Mountains, a town with many steps up the hill to Blankenstein Castle with typical Harz flair. Leuder 2/3 of the houses in the old town are uninhabited and are in danger of falling into disrepair

After the long period of bad weather, everyone is highly motivated and the hike was really fun. It's great that the Laubach Rifle Club provided a place to stop for refreshments on Father's Day

After a rainy night, we started the hike in Maria Alm. We drove a bit up the mountain, but it's better to park down in the village. Very varied route. Paths lead across farms, meadows with cows, forest paths where you can meet squirrels. Along the stream, accompanied by the rustling, very entertaining 🥾🥾🥾

On the way to Schechingen, you'll enjoy magnificent views of the three Kaiser Mountains: Stuifen, Rechberg, and Hohenstaufen. The Schechingen Easter Fountain is known throughout the region and a treat every year
