The natural theater in Heidenheim is the second largest natural theater in Baden Württemberg. The founding of the theater association came into the head of Gustav Müller in the trenches of the First World War, if he would get out of this war unharmed ... and thus in 1919 the association was founded as the "Folk Art Association Heidenheim". In 1924 a seat was allocated behind the castle and the nature theater with 1960 seats and 5 entrances was built there. Today there are performances in the program throughout the summer, always one adult and one children's play.

The natural theater has a stage area of 2500 square meters. More than 400 contributors annually. Since the theater existed, there have been more than 5,000 performances. Since 1924 so far 200 premieres. There are 1100 covered seats and is the second largest stage in Baden Württemberg. The entire area covers 40,000 square meters. In the costume rental there are 3500 costumes.
