Mount Crandell rises above the townsite in Waterton Lakes National Park, offering one of the most recognizable peaks in the area. Its red and grey rock layers reflect the park’s distinctive geology, while trails around its base lead to viewpoints over Waterton Valley and Upper Waterton Lake. The mountain’s slopes are steep and rugged, with sections of loose rock that make the ascent best suited to experienced hikers and scramblers. From the summit, the panorama stretches across the prairie to the east and deep into the Rocky Mountains to the west.
