The original foundation of this monastery dates back to the three sons of the second Marquis, Don Luis Fajardoy de la Cueva, who in 1572 decided to found a Franciscan monastery as a resting place and memory of their lineage.

The monastery was restored in 2020 and converted into the headquarters of the municipal music and dance school. In addition, other cultural and educational activities also take place here.
