Mauritius has become famous because of a few stamps. Specifically, a misprint of the blue and red Mauritus. Instead of Post Paid, Post Office was printed. Here in the museum, the two brands can be visited under guard.

The museum is not open on Sundays. 😞 But when it comes to the history of stamp misprints, it should be noted that Mauritius, as a British colony at the time, was one of the first countries to introduce stamps. Before that, letters were paid for by the recipient and were relatively expensive.
