Located just below treeline, the Last Chance Mine has a little shack that is barely still standing and a little bit of a leftover minecart track. There is also a seasonal spring that flows through this area and can be utilized as a final bottle refill before heading up above treeline.

The single track trail leading to the mine can be a bit overgrown through the switchbacks. After you pass this mine, the old mining roadbed reappears and the running is better again until you hit the ridge.
