Bairro Alto and Chiado are two districts in Lisbon that are closely related to each other. One district is elegant and stylish during the day, the other trendy and cool at night.
Chiado is Lisbon's popular shopping and theater district, home to a number of historical monuments, traditional shops, and unique cafes and restaurants. There isn't much to see in Bairro Alto during the day. But as soon as the sun goes down, the numerous little bars open, where people partying all night.

A nice and very busy shopping street. Here you can find the everyday shops. But the architecture of the houses makes it just beautiful and exciting. One is quite astonished.

The street is lined with shops. In addition to well-known international chains like Foot Locker, H&M, Nespresso, and Levi's, there are also many typically Portuguese shops selling souvenirs or traditional Portuguese knitwear, such as Rezenten (at the beginning of the street).

Walking from Rossio to Rua Garrett, you'll see the Santa Justa Lift on your left. Looking further up, you'll see the pedestrian bridge you can cross when using the Santa Justa Lift.

If you're in the mood for ice cream, stop by Santini for some of the most delicious ice cream in the city.
