Not only the castle park, but also the agricultural and village areas around the Kalkum moated castle are designated as the "Schwarzbachaue landscape conservation area". The castle park, which faces west, was laid out in the form of a large semicircle in the English landscape style around 1810 by the Düsseldorf garden architect Maximilian Weyhe. The park is popular with residents and guests as a local recreation area.

The castle park is very well maintained and invites you to take a stroll. The shady arcade is particularly beautiful in summer. The branching paths offer interesting perspectives of the castle. Unfortunately, the interior of the castle is not accessible.
