The Reide is a right tributary of the Weißen Elster in the Saalekreis and east of the city of Halle (Saale) in southern Saxony-Anhalt.

Its source is between Zöberitz and Peißen in the Saale district. It flows through the Halle districts of Reideburg, Büschdorf, Kanena/Bruckdorf and Radewell/Osendorf.

At Kanena, water from the Hufeisensee is fed to the stream through an overflow, and the Kabelske flows into the Reide from the left here. Surplus water is pumped into the stream south of Dieskau from the Osendorfer See, which is to the right of the Reide.

The Reide passes under the Magdeburg–Leipzig railway line to the south of Kanena and the B6 federal highway in Bruckdorf. It then flows west past the Dieskau Castle Park with the Lautschteich, the Hoffmannsteich and the Großer Mühlteich in the direction of Radewell/Osendorf.

Near Osendorf it enters the Saale-Elster-Aue after crossing under the Ammendorf–Luppenau railway line. Here it runs parallel below the Saale-Elster Viaduct of the new Erfurt-Halle/Leipzig line. In the south of the Halle district of Radewell/Osendorf, the Reide flows into the White Elster as a right tributary.
