The old linden tree was probably planted in the early 19th century inside the defense tower of the Steinsberg. Protected as a natural monument, the roots have significantly damaged the walls of the castle tower over the years. A lightning strike, among other things, damaged the tree. It is now dead and serves as a habitat for a rare population of beetles.
