    At 2,789 feet (850 m), Elk Mountain rises above the trees in Tillamook State Forest along with its higher neighbour, Kings Mountain. The trail to reach the summit is challenging but absolutely stunning. The views are far-reaching and reveal just how vast this forest is.

    You can find parking at the trailhead and there are several other trails accessible from the same point.

    At 2,789 feet, Elk Mountain sits just east of Kings Mountain. The ascent to the summit from the southeast is steep, but the views of the forest help you forget the burn in your legs! Once at the top, you won't have much more ascent ahead of you if you choose to continue on to Kings Mountain.
