Odsłonięto go 3 maja 1994 roku z inicjatywy Towarzystwa Opieki nad Zabytkami. Przedstawia Matejkę stojącego na cokole z paletą i pędzlem oraz siedzącego przy cokole Stańczyka.

    Zaraz za pomnikiem znajduje się głaz narzutowy - pomnik przyrody.
