The hermitage dedicated to this saint is located on the right hand side of the road that goes up towards the Prades Mountains, about ten minutes walk from the town, and is a frequent place for walks by the people of Aleixar and a destination for hikers.

The oldest references are provided by polychrome wooden cairns that reveal a medieval origin. In terms of documentation, the oldest is a parchment from 1341 through which Maria, wife of Guillem Tost de l'Aleixar, leaves in her will "opera Beati Blasii, sex denariorum". A few years later (1370) the infant Joan, count of Prades, ordered the jurors of the town "that of present liurets and given the keys to Jacme Roseyll and his wife Berengaria of the church of Sent Blay"; We already have hermits there.

The vicissitudes of the twentieth century led to the fact that, after the Spanish Civil War, nothing was left of the interior of the hermitage, and then (books of minutes of the City Council, 1939) it was necessary to make a series of actions aimed at overcoming the consequences: the symbolic act of repositioning the image of the saint was carried out; it was endowed with a table (1945), a work commissioned from the sculptor Modest Gené de Reus for the parish and later placed in the hermitage; in 1981 the roof was rebuilt; in 1983 the water was taken away; in 1997 it was tiled with natural stone; in 2005 the paintings were restored and, even now, it is necessary to work periodically both in the building and its surroundings to preserve and improve it at the service of the villagers and the many groups of people who live there.
