Behind the district court there is a cute little playground with a swing, slide, climbing frame and lots and lots of sand.

The old town in Schwedt (Oder) is not very big, but worth seeing. There are many old buildings and two churches along Vierradener Straße and Vierradener Platz. There are information boards on most of the buildings.

Schwedt/Oder is located in the north-east of Brandenburg directly on the border with Poland. The city was once the residence of the Margraves of Brandenburg-Schwedt, a branch of the Hohenzollern family. Laid out according to the Dutch model, the city received a grid-shaped street network and baroque buildings.
Unfortunately, this beautiful city complex did not survive the Second World War unscathed. Few historic buildings have survived. The Uckermärkische Bühnen Schwedt is located on the site of the former margrave's castle. The old castle park forms the picturesque backdrop for the castle park festival every summer.
