Although the ramparts of this once mighty fortification have been reduced to tumbled stone, the remains of Mither Tap hillfort are hugely impressive. The barbican entrance is a rare survivor whilst the views from the summit are breathtaking.

Mither Tap is at the summit of Bennachie and is well worth the effort of getting up there. There are various routes up but the easiest is probably from the Bennachie Visitors Centre. Ample parking (now at a small charge) and the amenities of the Visitors Centre make this a good place to start. Enjoy the views from Mither Tap.
