Above the city, Linköping's cathedral towers with a 107 meter high tower. The construction of the cathedral began in the 1230s and lasted 300 years. Altarpieces, tapestries, windows, crucifixes and pulpits are accompanied by a German-language leaflet at the entrance to the cathedral. Next to the church is Sweden's oldest secular building, Linköping's 12th-century castle. The building also houses a castle and cathedral church museum.
