Crossing the Sasso Lanzone (2,819 m) on the so-called "Steinbockweg/Sentiero degli Stambecchi" is a scenic walk for mountaineers, but somewhat challenging for normal hikers in places. The scramble through the rough pile of rocks on the west side of the summit ridge is a bit arduous, but the trickiest part is the transition from the ridge to the east face, especially on the descent. Since this part is very well equipped with chains and climbing aids, the path has been downgraded to white and red (hiking) markings, but the first few meters with the view of the abyss in front of you are not for those prone to vertigo. The difficulty of the path is therefore generally given as T3+.
The view from the ridge of the Adula Alps with the Rheinwaldhorn is wonderful, however, and the rest of the tour is a normal mountain hike.
