In 1976, the station was built by Mr. Gerhard Kropf and some friends, in their free time and with countless hours of work, completely free of charge. But the station was not built in a day; it all started with a construction hut on a field.

The reason for this was that the birds of prey were no longer to be taken from the wild for falconry, but to be bred. The private station was immediately open to the public in 1977.

Shows are also available during these times to learn more about the birds.

Are dogs allowed at the Hagenbachklamm Birds of Prey Breeding Station or on nearby trails?

While the surrounding Eichenhain Nature Park trails are generally dog-friendly, it's important to check the specific rules for dogs directly with the Birds of Prey Breeding Station before your visit, as live animal facilities often have restrictions to ensure the safety and well-being of both the raptors and other visitors. It's always best to keep dogs on a leash in natural areas.
