    The pier in Kühlungsborn is 240 meters long and a popular place for vacationers and anglers. It was inaugurated in 1991.

    Very close to the pier you can see the 15 meter high border tower, a witness to the division of Germany. The Kühlungsborn Baltic Sea border tower is the only one open to the public. You can find the opening times of the associated museum here: ostsee- Grenzturm.com.

      The pier Kühlungsborn was inaugurated on 03.10.1991, making it the first completed bridge since German reunification. It is with its 240 m length a landmark of the city.
      From here you have a wonderful view of the Baltic Sea, the beach and the oldest resort in Germany - Heiligendamm.
      In the years 2007/08 the pier was completely renovated.
      Today it is a popular destination for tourists and is often used by anglers. From the pier you can take the boat to Warnemünde or in the direction of Rerik / Salzhaff.

                  The slim beauty has been welcoming young and old for a trip to the sea since 1991. Their predecessors fell victim to the harsh Baltic Sea winters decades ago: the two wooden structures in Kuehlungsborn-Ost and in the western part of the town were crushed by ice masses in the winters of 1929 and 1941/1942 and only partially rebuilt. Both bridges were shortened in GDR times; the ship traffic finally ceased, as this was considered to be a very good escape route to the FRG in the course of the construction of the Wall in 1961.

                  The Kuehlungsborn pier was completed after reunification in 1990 and only five months of construction as the first structure of its kind in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. Today it is considered one of the most beautiful landmarks of the town and a popular destination for excursionists, those seeking relaxation and St. Peter's disciples. On the occasion of the annual major events, such as the New Year's bathing, the pier festival, pier services or the big New Year's Eve party with fireworks, she is a generous hostess and a unique silhouette for a lively hustle and bustle that you should not miss!
