The Röthbachfall

In two main stages the Röthbachfall in the south of the upper lake overcomes the so-called Röthwand, which separates the cauldron of the Königssee and the Obersees from the Röth, the plateau between Steinernem sea and Hagengebirge. You can reach the Röthbachfall over the Fischunkelalm on the Obersee. Of course you have to go by boat over the Königssee to the Saletalm, and then make your way to the Obersee. This small, approximately 3-kilometer hike leads impressively along the banks of the Obersee along steep cliffs to the Fischunkelalm. Behind the alpine area there is a small wooded area, which still has to be crossed, then you can see the water of the Röthbach impressive fall into the valley.

The Obersee is definitely worth a visit. The completely smooth surface of the lake, the clear water - just an incredibly beautiful sight.
The path from Salet to Obersee is heavily frequented, as it can be easily managed even with less sure-footedness and fitness. As a result, there is often a traffic jam at the front of the lake because everyone wants to take their photos there.
If you can and have enough time, you can walk around the Obersee to the right to the Fischunkelalm, and then continue to the Röthbachfall. Sturdy shoes and a certain amount of stamina are required here. The path can hardly be mastered with prams, as the path is narrow and stepped.
On the way there are more beautiful views of the Obersee, which definitely justify the effort.
As a reward, there are drinks and small snacks at the Fischunkelalm.
