An easy and pleasant hike, just plan to get your shoes wet as there are two water crossings. From the castle, there's no need to go back as a path leads down to the river and takes you back on the way back.

The gravel path is much smoother than a few kilometers higher, towards the Col de Riu, where it is much more brittle and limited on gravel (especially loaded).

This ancient refuge, built in the 1970s, is located in the ancient village of Bassegoda, 820 meters above sea level. The Bassegoda Can Galan refuge is also open to the public for overnight stays. At this point there is an area to park. The road to get there from Albanya is steep and narrow but manageable weather permitting. Afterwards it is only accessed with a 4x4 vehicle. Several routes can be started from here, such as the Puig de Bassegoda and the Bassegoda refuge.
