    Het valt te betwijfelen dat de RTL-productie "Demon Wedding" een hoogtepunt was in de 800-jarige geschiedenis van het kasteel. Het symbool van de gemeente Windeck in het Siegtal heeft heel andere dingen gezien sinds het in 1174 voor het eerst werd genoemd als "Castrum novum in windeke". Het kasteel werd in latere eeuwen verschillende keren verwoest en dreigde volledig te verslechteren voordat de Siegkreis in de jaren zestig de Palas-muur liet herbouwen en de donjon liet beveiligen. Archeologisch onderzoek bracht een plattegrond aan het licht die een idee geeft van de imposante afmetingen van het kasteel.
